Max Shepherd, Chair at Tourism Tropical North Queensland said our destination has an extraordinary array of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander products and it is pleasing to see that many of these are making positive steps towards reconciliation.
“Cultural tourism is highly valued by many of our international markets and recognition through awards such as these will add to our destination’s reputation as the best place to experience Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture,” he said.
“Through our destination’s new brand of Timeless Experiences, we will be able to more effectively market Indigenous tourism alongside the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest as a compelling reason to visit Tropical North Queensland.”
