Visitors to Cairns Aquarium are now able to experience a deeper insight and different point of view into the machinations of a world-class aquatic wonderland for just $10 per person.
This week Cairns Aquarium introduces Behind the Scenes tours that will operate several times daily and over the course of approximately 20 minutes, provide visitors with an up, close and personal view of ‘life as an aquarist’.
“Behind the glass is where all the fun stuff happens. The aquarium’s back of house is vast and takes in several domains from coral propagation to food preparation and life support for the marine animals needing extra care or being trained to feed before they are introduced into the exhibit.
“For many people, this type of experience provides a rare view into an otherwise unseen world,” Ms Cullen said.
Since opening its doors to visitors in September, Cairns Aquarium has welcomed visitors in their thousands whose fascination and thirst for the region’s natural environment has been rewarded with 15,000 animals housed in 11 eco-system exhibits from the Great Barrier Reef to the freshwater rivers and waterways of the Gulf Savannah.
Visitors can book and pay for their Behind the Scenes tour on arrival at the front desk for just $10 per person.
