Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre
Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre (CTRC) is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick and injured marine turtles. The Great Barrier Reef is home to six of the world’s seven species of marine turtles, with CTRC’s work focused on rescue, rehabilitation, research and education.
With rehabilitation facilities in Cairns and on Fitzroy Island, CTRC offers opportunities for groups to learn about and participate in its rehabilitation work.
Fitzroy Island Half-Day Activity (up to 20 participants per day)
Groups can assist with activities at the Fitzroy Island rehabilitation facility, including cleaning tanks and rehabilitation areas and, where available, turtle feeding.
Cairns One-Hour Activity (up to 40 participants per day)
