Kuranda Koala Gardens
Angela Freeman, Co-owner at Kuranda Koala Gardens
Kuranda Koala Gardens is a boutique wildlife attraction in the heart of the Heritage Markets, in the famous Kuranda Rainforest Village. This delightful, conveniently located venue provides visitors with the opportunity to see and experience some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife in one location with free shuttle transfers from the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Kuranda Train stations. A highlight for visitors is the opportunity to actually hold a koala for a treasured souvenir photo and hand feed tame kangaroos and wallabies. Also on display are wombats, freshwater crocodiles and gliders plus more to come in 2016. A popular option is to package Kuranda Koala Gardens with its sister attraction, Birdworld Kuranda and located next door with Frogs Restaurant also in the same market complex.
For those interested in pioneer and railway history there is a dedicated history display with interesting details on life in the early days of Kuranda.
