Sugar Wharf is a heritage-listed waterfront venue in the heart of Port Douglas, overlooking the Coral Sea and Daintree Rainforest. Originally built as a working wharf, the timber clad building now provides a distinctive setting for corporate dinners, gala events, cocktail functions and welcome events.
The open plan interior and waterfront deck provide flexible options for different event formats, with the historic character of the building creating a strong backdrop for event styling and theming. Groups can use the space for seated dining, cocktails, networking or evening celebrations, with layouts tailored to suit the event requirements.
As a Council managed venue, Sugar Wharf is a blank canvas, with catering, furniture, styling, entertainment and other event infrastructure arranged to suit the event. The venue has no operational kitchen, and catering setup must comply with heritage requirements, while waterfront noise restrictions also apply.
Located beside Dickson Inlet and close to the centre of Port Douglas, Sugar Wharf gives planners the opportunity to host an event in a distinctly local setting, with the waterfront and surrounding landscape providing a natural backdrop.
