Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is showcasing the expertise and vibrancy of Tropical North Queensland as an international business events destination on the bureau’s first mission to New Zealand this week.
Exciting new infrastructure investment in Cairns and a growing selection of offsite venues are capturing the attention of meeting planners attending the annual Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Tropical Showcase across four Australian cities.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Partnerships and Events General Manager Tara Bennett said 21 members had joined the Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef roadshow across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and a debut event in Adelaide.
“With the Hilton Palm Cove Cairns Resort & Spa about to open, the Morris Group redeveloping Double Island, and the $85 million Skyrail Rainforest Cableway upgrade underway, we have plenty of positive news to share,” she said.
“New half-day Great Barrier Reef options and repurposed offsite venues are also part of the discussion as members bring the Cairns, Port Douglas and Great Barrier Reef story to 135 event planners, professional conference organisers and incentive agents on our 2026 four-city tour.
“The annual Tropical Showcase is a valuable opportunity to connect and share what’s new across Tropical North Queensland, highlighting the depth and calibre of the region’s Business Events offering.
“Together, our delegation is showcasing world-class venues, accommodation, unique delegate experiences
and local expertise while strengthening the industry relationships that help to bring conferences and incentive programs to the region.
