The Mill
The Mill is a repurposed timber mill in Cairns’ Magazine Street precinct, combining industrial heritage with a large scale event setting approximately 10 minutes from the Cairns CBD. Originally established as a timber mill in the mid 20th century, the site retains its distinctive character while providing a substantial space for corporate dinners, gala events, cocktail functions and welcome events.
The main undercover space can accommodate up to 800 guests for seated events or 1,600 for cocktail events, with the expansive surrounding grounds providing additional options for outdoor event setups. A marquee can be added to extend the event footprint for larger groups, with configurations of up to 2,000 guests possible depending on the event design.
The open event space provides scope for planners to bring in catering, furniture, styling, entertainment and production to create an event around the character of the site. The surrounding precinct also includes Narrow Tracks distillery, providing an opportunity to incorporate local spirits and tastings into an event program where appropriate.
The Mill provides planners with the scale and flexibility to build a substantial offsite event around a distinctly local piece of Cairns’ industrial heritage.
