Destination specialists Clockwise Consulting have been appointed to bolster efforts in attracting business events to Cairns & Great Barrier Reef.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) General Manager – Partnerships and Events Rosie Douglas said interest was growing in regional areas for events as confidence returned for interstate travel.
“Corporate groups cannot travel offshore for their events and our convention bureau Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef needs to capitalise on that opportunity,” Ms Douglas said.
“There is significant interest in Cairns & Great Barrier Reef with the Cairns Convention Centre reopening, new hotels completed and the Esplanade Dining Precinct close to completion.
“Clockwise Consulting have a proven track record in working with regional destinations, and with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, are ideally located where the corporate event planners are based.
“Cairns & Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s most highly desirable tropical business events destinations for both the national and international markets.
“The appointment of Clockwise Consulting will further capitalise on this opportunity to ensure our destination is front of mind for planners around Australia.”
Clockwise Consulting spokesperson Nicole Tingey said they were thrilled to be working with Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef and their members who are committed to attracting business events to the region.
“Whether event planners are seeking to include Cairns culture into a corporate meeting, the coastal beauty of Palm Cove to inspire an incentive reward, or the backdrop and experiences Port Douglas can provide, we look forward to building upon these destination strengths to increase desire for Cairns & Great Barrier Reef and ensuring a smooth journey for our event planners,” she said.
