Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef’s annual Regional Showcase provides professional conference and event organisers the opportunity to experience what Cairns & Great Barrier Reef can provide for your next event from the comfort of your home city. Travelling to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, this is the perfect opportunity for organisers to learn all about new product updates for the region and enjoy an afternoon of networking and entertainment.
2024 Regional Showcase
The Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef team accompanied by 18 local business event members hosted 3 events over 3 days with a lunch in Brisbane, breakfast in Sydney and afternoon cocktails in Melbourne. Over the 3 days, our TNQ team met with 100 association and corporate buyers, professional conference organisers and destination management companies.
To help showcase the diverse range of tropical food and beverages that the region has to offer, the BECGBR team took down 45kg of local produce and gave each delegate the opportunity to select their own gifts to take with them.
The Regional Showcase also provided a perfect opportunity to launch two new videos which aim to showcase both the destination and our business event capabilities targeting the association market and the incentive market respectively. Be sure to check out our two new presentation videos below!

2023 Regional Showcase
The Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef team along with 20 members met with over 100 meeting and event planners across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The region’s approach to sustainability was highlighted in a destination video showcasing member products, with buyers across the 3 cities providing extremely positive feedback on the leadership role we are taking.
The invitation-only event was held in August at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane, Quay Restaurant in Sydney and Longsong in Melbourne. Each attendee was treated to a hosted lunch with extensive opportunities to meet and mingle with the 20 industry representatives.
This year, the attending planners were gifted a tree to increase the habitat of tree kangaroos on the Atherton Tablelands in Tropical North Queensland as a thank you for attending the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Business Events Regional Showcase.

2022 Regional Showcase
In 2022, the Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef team, along with 19 of the regions top business event partners travelled to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne over the course of four days to host professional conference and incentive organisers at a VIP Lunch.
The invitation-only event was held in August at Polpetta in Brisbane, 12-Micron in Sydney and Longsong in Melbourne. Each attendee was treated to an intimate two-course seated lunch with extensive opportunities to meet and mingle with the 19 industry representatives.
An engaging, custom-created business events video was played on screens throughout the lunches, showcasing each partner’s product individually and featuring the representative in attendance that day.
