Welcome Members

Welcome BECGBR Members

Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef (BECGBR) is the region’s official convention bureau. BECGBR assist corporate, association, government, and incentive planners to bring events such as conferences, conventions, meetings, and exhibitions to the region.

BECGBR works as an extension of your team by connecting clients directly with you. We represent our members to clients during assistance with leads or bids, direct consultation at trade shows, organising clients’ site inspections or educationals within the region, and listings in our various digital marketing avenues, including on our website, in quick-reference guides and delegate boosting programs. BECGBR market the destination to ensure it is top-of-mind.

BECGBR works with members that are active in the business events industry and are either a Partner of Business Events or a Champion of Tourism level member.

Business Events Conference

TTNQ & BECGBR hosted a Business Events Conference on 31 March 2023 at the Cairns Convention Centre. Delegates heard from Business Events Australia and learned insights from industry experts through panel discussions and networking opportunities. The BECGBR team provided an update on subvention opportunities, event leads and the forward calendar, trade activity and marketing. If you were not able to join the conference, you can find a copy of the presentations HERE.

There’s so much to love about @lizardisland but the world famous “Cod Hole” is one of our favourites! Why? Because of these curious potato cods of course🐠

Today we take time to commemorate the brave men & women who have served our nation in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

Soldiers from Tropical North Queensland joined the defence force to help protect Australia, including many Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people. Thanks to these people, we now live in an incredible location that we’re very proud of 💙🌴

If you’re interested in learning more about the history of the region, visit the Cairns Museum or check out some of the many historical sites around the region including the ANZAC trail ✨
